Effective August 2025, Ebook Central no longer uses the Adobe Digital Editions software.  There is a new Ebook Central Reader app available for download.

Note: There is currently an issue installing the app on Windows machines.  We are investigating this issue and apologize for the inconvenience.

To download an ebook:

1. Select the "Download Book" button and choose the length of loan. 
2. Click Confirm.
3. A new window will appear with a code and a button to download the app.
4. Click "Download the App" and select your device.
5. After the app is installed on your device, enter the code in the window to activate it.
6. Your downloaded book will appear, and you can now read it on your device.

Tips and Tricks:

• These instructions on how to download an ebook are included with screenshots on this website.
• If the code does not immediately appear, you may need to click "Manage Devices" to retrieve the code:
  
  
   

Disclaimers and Caveats:

• You can only register up to 6 devices at one time.
• You cannot sync your reading across devices at this time.  If you start reading on your computer and want to pick up where you left off on your phone, it won't automatically remember your place.  You can, however, use a bookmark to save your place.
• You cannot return a book early, as with the Libby app.  The book will automatically expire at the end of your loan period.
• The app may not work on all devices.  Minimum system requirements are:
  • Windows: Minimum OS version: Windows 10 (build 1809)
  • MacOS: Minimum OS version: macOS 10.15
  • iOS: Minimum OS version: iOS 14
  • Android: Minimum OS version: Android 13
