EBOOKS

Learn how to access and read ebooks through UR Libraries.

Our Collections

The library's ebook collections are vast, and we add new titles weekly to our collections from a variety of sources.  Listed below are only some of the major collections and vendors we work with.  Click the links to access and search their platforms directly.

OneSearch

The best way to find ebooks is to search the library's catalog (OneSearch) for them.  OneSearch combines results from all the publishers and databases that the UR Libraries' subscribe to.  Here's what you do:

  1. Go to the library's homepage: https://library.richmond.edu/

  2. Select the "Books & More" tab and enter your search terms.  You can search by title, author, or any subject keyword.  Note: You may also use the OneSearch tab to search for books, but the "Books & More" tab will limit your results and make them more manageable to review.
    Search for baseball world series

  3. In the left menu under Resource Type, select "Books."

  4. Review your results, which contain a mixture of physical books available on the shelves of the library and ebooks available online.  Look at the "Available" statement to see where the book is located.
The betrayal: the 1919 World Series and the birth of modern baseball - 2 records, one physical and one online

  5. Click the title of the ebook (record with "available online"), and then click any of the links that show under "View Online."  Note: The names of these links are the vendors or publishers from where we purchased the ebook.  If there is more than one, then we have access to the ebook through multiple places.  If you see a note about the platform only supporting a certain number of concurrent users, that means only that number of people may access the ebook at the same time.
View Online: EBSCOhost (DDA): Please note that the platform supports only one concurrent user.
