Library Liaisons

At the University Library, we use a liaison librarian model for reference assistance. Liaisons are your key contacts for questions concerning library instruction, resource acquisition, and other service.

Each department on campus has an assigned liaison librarian. To find your assigned librarian, and/or to learn more about the services available to you, click on the "Liaison Librarians at UR" tab in the left-hand navigation column, or click here to see the full list of liaisons.

Information Literacy Standards at the University Library

The University of Richmond liaison librarians are committed to providing a comprehensive plan for integrating information literacy into the UR curriculum, beginning in the First Year Seminars, advancing through their Web of Inquiry coursework, and culminating in upper-division classes.

We utilize ACRL's definition of information literacy, as we feel it emphasizes the dynamism, flexibility, individual growth, and community learning inherent in students' research skill development:

"Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning." - ACRL Framework

For more information on the information literacy standards utilized by UR liaison librarians, click here to access our "Library Information Literacy Standards" guide, or paste the following link into your web browser: https://libguides.richmond.edu/informationliteracy/home
