Tips to Take Away from this Class
Tips to Take Away
- Subject encyclopedias, such as those in the Oxford Reference Online database or the Cambridge Companion Series are good places to begin to gather background information on a topic.
- Use the “Books and More” tab in OneSearch to find books we own in print or online.
- Find scholarly journal articles with Articles search on the main page or by searching the subject databases listed under the “Finding Books and Journal Articles” tab on your research guide.
- When using OneSearch, look at the left side of the page to see all the ways you can refine your search results.
- Academic/scholarly books and articles generally have references or bibliographies that provide “ready-made research” of recommended resources.
- If you need a book or article we don’t own, use the Interlibrary loan service.
- If you are interested in learning how to create advanced visual effects for a presentation or other technology skills, LinkedIn Learning has several types of software courses to let you learn at your own pace.
