Newspapers

The University of Richmond offers institutional subscriptions to several major newspaper websites.  Here's how to create direct permalinks to articles from these websites.  The key principle in these instructions is you must be logged into your individually-created, separate account to access any direct permalinks to articles from these websites.

New York Times, Washington Post, Bloomberg News, The Economist, and Financial Times:

  1. All students, faculty, and staff must create individual, separate accounts by following these instructions.
  2. Login to your account.
  3. Copy the URL at the top of the browser window.

  4. Instruct anyone who visits this link to login to their account to read it.  That is very important.  You may also need to visit the main page (ft.com, nytimes.com, etc.), login FIRST, and THEN click the link

Wall Street Journal:

  1. Access the Wall Street Journal.
  2. Copy the URL at the top of the browser window (just like in step 3 above).
  3. Anyone who accesses the WSJ must have accessed the site using the library's main link (in step 1) at least once in the past.  Once they've done that, an account has been automatically created for them using their Richmond email address.  Now, they can proceed to step 4.
  4. Click the URL you copied.
  5. Click "Sign In" in the top right corner to login to your account.  Enter your Richmond email address and click Send One-Time Passcode.  Login using the passcode; you cannot login using your Richmond password.
