What is Controversy Analysis?

Analysis of Controversy is the systematic review of a public controversy where there are two "sides" of a debate regarding how to resolve the issue.

Such an analysis provides:

  • An overview of the controversy
  • Explanation of the basic arguments of each "side"
  • The areas of contention between the two opposing groups
  • The underlying values and assumptions of each "side"

What is a Deliberative Speech?

Deliberative speech is form of speech used to advocate a specific position on a topic or issue affecting society.
