Think Tank Resources

Think Tanks are non-profit organizations providing research, analysis and recommendations to impact policy making.  Traditionally, think tanks began as research instutitions that made their research freely available, but didn't press too aggressively to influence the political system.  Today, think tanks continue their research function, but also attempt to have a more direct impact on policy making. 

Currently, there are hundreds of think tanks, covering a wide variety of policy issues and political philosophies.  Below are listed some of the major think tanks impacting US policy.
