Library Information Literacy Standards

Welcome!

As we welcome the new Foundational Curriculum starting in Fall 2024, liaison librarians with the University Library want to ensure our information literacy instruction practices and services align with UR's Web of Inquiry, as well as established practices from the Association of College and Research Libraries.

This guide serves three main purposes:

  1. To highlight how library instruction and services address the development of information literacy concepts and research skills across a student's education at UR.
  2. To identify common instruction outcomes between the Web of Inquiry, the ACRL Framework. and the University Library instruction practices.
  3. To provide additional resources on library instruction standards.

This guide will also act as a living document, one that liaison librarians will consistently review and update as needed to better serve the research and information needs of the University of Richmond community. If you have questions or suggestions regarding the guide, please contact Kyle Jenkins (kyle.jenkins@richmond.edu), First-Year Instruction Coordinator and Social Sciences Librarian.

Please use the pages on the left-hand side to check out the complete guide, or use the "Quick Links" buttons below to explore more resources on Boatwright instruction practices.
