Intergovernmental Organizations (IGOs)
- United Nations (UN)Website provides documents, reports and activities on a wide variety of world issues including security, terrorism, human rights, economic development, social development, and international law.
- World Trade Organization (WTO)International organization focusing on international trade and trade-related treaties.
- International Organization for Migration (IOM)Focuses on migration trends throughout the world and supports humane treatment of migrants, includes information on countries, diasporas, policy issues, etc.
- International Criminal Court (ICC)An international court tribunal established in 2002 focusing on prosecution of genocide, crimes against humanities and war crimes. This is an independent organization with membership of 121 countries.
Bretton Woods Institutions
- International Monetary Fund (IMF)Focuses on international monetary cooperation, monetary exchange, economics, etc. of its member countries and also provides temporary financial assistance to countries.

Independent Organizations
- International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)A neutral organization that predates the UN system providing humanitarian assistance and protect to those affected by war and violence. The ICRC also works to improve humanitarian principles and law and is part of the IFRC.
- International Federation of Red Cross & Red Cresent Societies (IFRC)A movement of various independent humanitarian organizations that work together to achieve shared principles and objectives regarding human rights.
UN System
- UN Human Rights CouncilIGO within the UN system consisting of 47 UN member countries elected to the Council by the UN General Assembly. The Council reviews human rights policies and issues of member countries.
- UN Security CouncilThis entity is the "security organ" of the UN, consisting of 15 member states (5 permanent, 10 rotating) that determine UN actions regarding issues of international peace and conflict areas.
- UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSO)Apparatus of the UN, focusing on international economic and developmental projects and goals.
