In addition to the Library's Citing Sources guide (which admittedly can be a little overwhelming) the following may be helpful:
MLA Citations: The Modern Language Association's website offers some straightforward examples to follow
Chicago Citations: The Chicago Manual of Style supports two types of citations, one that they call Notes and Bibliography (the format with footnotes) and the other that they call Author-Date (the format with citations in parentheses).
