Data Management: Home

Connecting the UR Community to data management resources.

Data Management is a set of processes and practices for managing, storing, describing, and archiving research data.

Many funding agencies, such as NSF and NIH, and scholarly journals are requiring that researchers deposit and make available the data that results from their work. In addition, many funders are requiring data management plans to be submitted along with grant applications.

This guide provides resources for creating data management plans, best practices and resources for managing, describing, and archiving research data, and contact information for offices and individuals at the University of Richmond who can answer questions and help with data management needs.

Specifically, we can:

  • Assist you with creating a data management plan.

  • Provide individual consultation on managing, storing, describing, and archiving your data.

  • Connect you with data management resources at UR.
